Click Rubrics under Course Tools on the Control Panel
Click Create Rubric
Fill in name and other necessary information
Fill in the column and row percentages, descriptions, and names
The rows represent what aspect of the assignment you are grading, such as grammar.
The columns represent levels of achievement that will be used for grading.
Add rows/columns
Click Add Row/Column
Rename row/column
Click the arrow next to row/column’s name
Click Edit
Rename
Click Save
Delete row/column
Click the arrow next to row/column’s name
Click Delete
Balance weights - makes all the percentages equal
Rubric Type:
No Points - feedback Only. Does not weigh how much each row or column is worth.
Points - a point value is inserted for each column or level of achievement. Does not weigh how much each row or criteria is worth.
Points Range - a range value is associated with each column or level of achievement. Does not weigh how much each row or criteria is worth.
Percentage - a percent value is inserted for each column or level of achievement. Each row or criteria has a percentage which tells you how much that particular criteria is weighted in your overall grade.
Percentage Range - a percent range is inserted for each column or level of achievement. Each row or criteria has a percentage which tells you how much that particular criteria is weighted in your overall grade.
Reorder rows/columns
Click Criteria/Levels of Achievement
Use the arrow buttons to reorder
Click Submit
Show Criteria Weight - shows to the percentage weight for each criteria
Click Submit
Add Rubric to New Components
Follow the directions on the components page. From there you can either use a previously made rubric or create a new rubric during the creation of the new component. You can add Rubrics to Assignments, Blogs, Discussion Boards, Journals, and Wikis.
Add Rubric to Previously Made Components
Go to the component page you are adding the Rubric to, using Course Tools on the Control Panel
Mouse over the component’s name
Click the arrow next to the name to open the Context Menu
Click Edit
Go to the area with the grading options
Mouse over Add Rubric
If you are using an Tool, you typically have to select Grade [insert tool name] before the Add Rubric button appears
If you want to use an unedited previously made Rubric
Add Rubric to New Components
